Field Canvasser | MOVE Texas

Job description

Job description

MOVE Texas is a grassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization building power in underrepresented youth communities through civic education, leadership development, and issue advocacy.

We are working hard to build a Texas that believes in its young people and reflects our values. We believe that every young Texan should be able to have their voice heard at the capitol, their city halls, and at the ballot box.

MOVE Texas currently operates in San Antonio, Laredo, Seguin, San Marcos, Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Fort Worth, Denton, and Dallas. We are headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

MOVE Texas innovates democracy for our generation. We work daily to build a more just, more representative future and empower inspiring new leaders—such as yourself—to keep making Texas better.

We are dedicated to hiring a diverse workforce that fosters opportunities for personal and professional development. We provide a collaborative and supportive environment built upon our fundamental core principles where each employee is valued.

MOVE Texas is seeking an energetic, dedicated field canvasser to join our efforts to register thousands of young voters in Texas this upcoming crucial election year in 2022 —specifically college students who are often registering to vote for the very first time! You’ll be joining the A-team of youth civic engagement: In 2016, MOVE registered 8,568 new young voters and helped 66% of them cast a ballot in the Presidential Election. In 2017, we registered another 5,300 young people and over 71% voted in San Antonio’s city election — tripling the millennial voter turnout in just two years. Now, we’re growing fast and need YOU to join the squad. If you care about giving our generation a voice in the political process - from canvassing for voter registration to Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts - we want to talk.
